New Kia Soul 2024 GT Line Interior, Redesign

New Kia Soul 2024 GT Line Interior, RedesignThis year’s updates to the Kia Soul’s features include a few new additions for 2024. In addition to the new logo and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, starting with the S trim, the car will now include an 8-inch touchscreen for the base LX model. Only a few previously optional comfort features, such as dual-zone automated climate control and wireless charging, are now standard on the S, GT-Line, and X-Line models. If you want even more driver help features, you can get the new Technology package for the LX model.

The inline-4 with 147 horsepower and the turbo-4 with 201 horsepower are still available in the Soul, with a starting price of $19,190. The manual transmission has been phased out, which is a shame. The Soul’s cabin is roomy and well-equipped with the latest driver assistance technology. Competitors for the Soul include the Hyundai Kona, Honda HR-V, Subaru Crosstrek, and a slew of other compact crossovers.

2024 Kia Soul Redesign

The 2024 Kia Soul portfolio options are LX, S, GT-Line, EX, and Turbo. The Soul is a sleek, futuristic-looking car skillfully coated in gloss black parts and thin headlamps. The elegant little city car transforms into a Decepticon in the blink of an eye. Only the GT-Line, EX, and Turbo have power sunroofs reserved for the apex trim. While the base model rides on 18-inch steel wheels, higher trims such as the S and EX use 16-inch alloys, while the Turbo, GT-Line, and X-Line all use 17-inch alloys. It’s only possible to get LED fog lights and headlights on the Turbo grade, with a unique center-exit exhaust.

The Soul competes against the Hyundai Kona in terms of size, yet it still has a strong presence despite its size. A 63-inch height and a 70.9-inch width describe Kia’s dimensions from the nose to the tailgate, totaling 165.2 inches. The total length of the vehicle’s wheelbase is 102.4 inches. It won’t have a problem navigating harsher terrain if you’re used to taking the side roads less traveled by traffic. While the Soul is the lightest at 2,844 pounds, it reaches its heaviest at 3,036 pounds when equipped with a turbocharged engine.

Interior

The interior of the little Kia is delightful and pretty impressive in terms of quality, making it another area where the Soul catches the hearts of many shoppers. The boxy shape provides a lot of room inside, while the interior design appears more flowing and rounder than the outside suggests. A car at this price point shouldn’t have an interior this good, but the Soul does so while incorporating high-quality materials and cutting-edge technology. Do you think it’s a nice place to stay? No, that’s not entirely correct. However, Soul’s internals is impressive compared to some of its main competitors.

As we previously stated, the Kia Soul SUV’s boxy design was most likely a deliberate effort by Kia to maximize interior capacity. The strategy worked, and the Soul is still one of the most capacious challengers in the segment. At this time, it’s significantly more spacious than the Hyundai Kona. The segment-leading 41.1 inches of back legroom and 39.4 inches of front-to-rear headroom (38.3 inches in the front with the sunroof) are out of this world when it comes to interior space. On the cheaper grades, the seats are comfy, but on the Turbo model, they’re bolstered for a more sporty feel. Only the EX and the Turbo have power-adjustable seats with two-way lumbar support, while all other versions have four-way manual seats.

Engine

The Kia Soul is still available with two different powerplant options. The entry-level 2.0L inline-4 engine makes 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. An automatic CVT transmission is standard on most small crossovers, and this engine is paired with it. The manual gearbox is being phased out in favor of an automatic transmission this year. The Turbo model has a 1.6L turbo inline-4, producing 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is mated to this engine.

When driving at low speeds or at traffic lights, the engine, and dual-clutch gearbox don’t sync smoothly, and the vehicle feels jerky. This vehicle’s suspension provides a smooth ride over bumps in the road, yet it doesn’t feel overly soft. The Soul’s steering isn’t world-class, but it does have an excellent feel. As a result, it’s swift and responsive yet not excessive, which means it can handle a lot of edits. Despite its boxy shape, it doesn’t feel top-heavy, even while driving around curves.

Kia Soul Price and 2024 Release Date

The Soul’s affordability is one of its primary selling points. Just $19,190 gets you into the base Kia Soul LX model. Compared to the Kona’s entry-level SE model, the Soul’s introductory price is significantly lower. An MSRP of $22,590 is required to purchase the GT-Line, while the S model starts at $21,490. Both the X-Line and EX versions of the Kia Soul are available, and the EX costs $23,490. The Turbo costs $27,790, which is a significant increase from the rest of the lineup, but it’s still affordable. These prices do not include the $1,175 delivery fee.
