But even though the EV market is getting more competitive, Kia isn’t sitting back and doing nothing. Design: Exterior and Interior

The outward design of the facelifted Kia EV6 will be very different, especially at the front end. Spies and computer models show that the EV6 will get a new look based on the EV9 and its smaller brothers, the EV3, EV4, and EV5. Headlights that are more complicated and sit lower than the present ones will be part of the new design language. The hood and center intake section will also be changed. The taillight images will probably get a few small changes, but the back end will still look like the future.

Some changes could also be made to the inside of the updated EV6, like adding a new triple-screen panel that blends the digital instrument cluster, entertainment system, and climate control display. The EV9 and EV5 already have this feature. Adding it to the EV6 would make the car look more current and high-tech. A new steering wheel, different upholstery choices, and better tools for self-driving and connectivity are some of the other changes that could happen.

Powertrain

The updated Kia EV6 is expected to keep the same battery sizes and powertrain choices as the current model. It is built on Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform. The EV6 comes with two different battery sizes: a 58 kWh pack with an EPA-estimated range of up to 248 miles and a 77.4 kWh pack with an EPA-estimated range of up to 310 miles. The power output changes based on the setup. The base model with rear-wheel drive has 167 horsepower, while the top-of-the-line GT model with dual-motor all-wheel drive has 576 horsepower. The GT model can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and can go as fast as 161 mph at its fastest.

Upcoming generations of the EV6 are likely to have minor changes to the engine. Those generations will most likely use Hyundai Motor Group’s new Integrated Modular Architecture (IMA) base. This base will make it easier for different kinds of electric cars to adapt and grow. It will also make them more efficient and perform better.

Release Date and Price

The updated Kia EV6 should come out by the middle of 2024 and will be sold in the U.S. as a 2025 model-year car. We don’t know the exact launch date or price of the new model yet, but we think it will start a little higher than the current model’s base price of $42,600. The updated EV6 will go up against well-known competitors like the Toyota bZ4X, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Nissan Ariya.
