All-New Kia K5 2024 Specs, Interior, Price – The 2024 Kia K5 midsize sedan enters its second model year with a new Kia logo and additional standard amenities. Though the K5’s beautiful outward appearance draws attention, the car’s cost and feature levels are also appealing. The 2024 K5 starts at $23,690, but a sportier GT variant has a 290-horsepower engine. To keep the momentum continuing, Kia adds extra goodies to the 2024 K5, including wireless device charging and a 10.3-inch touchscreen on the GT-Line and higher grades. A 360-degree surround-view camera, front parking sensors, and a power-folding outside mirror are now standard on GT and EX trims.
The new Kia K5 GT edition gets people’s attention with its high-tech gadgets, comfortable features, and an excellent warranty. Even though the 2024 K5 is a unique name in the midsize sedan sector, Kia managed to sell over 30,000 units of the 2021 model in its first year. The old names, such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, are the market leaders in sales.
All-New Kia K5 2024 Redesign
The midsize sedan market isn’t known for eliciting wistful glances, but the 2017 Kia K5 is, without a doubt, one of the class’s most stylish competitors. It’s longer and lower than the Optima it replaces, giving it a more athletic posture, but the details make it so appealing. The full-width lighting at the back and the nearly angry face with the larger tiger grille and dramatic LED DRLs look terrific. The LX comes with standard LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, and a Hyper Silver front grille, while the top-spec GT comes with 19-inch alloys and bespoke aesthetic components shared with the GT-Line. Certain trims come with a panoramic sunroof and front LED fog lamps.
Usually, the brightest available color would be required to make your midsize sedan stand out, but the Kia K5 looks fantastic in subtle hues like Gravity Gray and Ebony Black. You may choose Everlasting Silver, Passion Red Tintcoat, or Ebony Black on the base LX. A Glacial White Pearl will set you back $445 extra, and every other hue will require a more expensive trim. Crystal Beige or Gravity Gray is available on the LXS, while Wolf Gray or Sapphire Blue is available on the GT-Line. While the palette has a lot of variety, it would have been better if Kia didn’t confine specific colors to select areas.
Interior
With a sleek, stylish, and spacious cabin, the 2024 Kia K5 improves on the Kia Optima’s strengths. The use of high-quality materials on the dashboard and doors, such as wood trim, adds appeal. With gloss black plastic and a horizontal shape, it looks like current versions like the Stinger and K900. The construction quality is exceptional, with high-grade materials used throughout.
Ambient internal lighting, heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a wireless charging pad is a few luxury interior options available on the K5. Above the unusual horizontal vents, the floating infotainment display floats above the dashboard. The climate controls are located beneath the ducts and are simple to use. A modern flat-bottom steering wheel with plenty of functions is also included with the K5.
Engine
The K5 replaces the Optima’s simple, ordinarily aspirated base engine with a 1.6-liter turbocharged unit that is quieter and offers more low-down torque, improving drivability. Most trim levels use this engine, which produces 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to an automated transmission with eight gears. The GT gets a 2.5-liter turbo with 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, which is more powerful than the Honda Accord’s most OK. The sporty nature of this model is reinforced by the adoption of a new eight-speed “wet” dual-clutch transmission developed in-house by Kia. It guarantees smooth and rapid transitions.
We didn’t get to experience the powerful GT model because it won’t be available until later this year, but we did get to try two versions of the 1.6-liter base engine. The engine isn’t potent, but it’s on par with Honda, Nissan, and Toyota’s base models. Its eight-speed transmission distinguishes the K5. Even though the K5 doesn’t have a manual transmission, the eight-speed automatic is more fun to drive than competitors with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Without the rubbery sensation of a CVT, the new ‘box shifts smoothly and rapidly.
