2025 Kia Seltos: What to Expect from the Updated Compact SUV – The Kia Seltos is a small SUV with much space inside, a smooth ride, and many features and choices. The Seltos came out in 2019 and got a mid-cycle update in 2022. Kia will likely make more changes and improvements to the Seltos in 2025, especially the X-Line trim that gives the model a more rough and exciting look.
The 2025 Kia Seltos are likely to have the following changes:
– A new front end with a head that is bigger and stands out more; – Wider taillights that go across the back; An electronic dashboard with a 4.2-inch or 10.25-inch screen; a power liftgate and air-conditioned front seats for the top SX trim; and a new X-Line model with unique wheels, hood, and roof racks.
Design: Exterior and Interior
The 2025 Kia Seltos will keep its general size and shape, but the front and back ends will probably get some changes. The Seltos will look more powerful and sure of themselves because the grille will be more prominent and have more angles. The headlights and taillights will also be changed to match the new grille.
On the back of the Seltos, a new wide taillight design will have a thin LED strip connecting the two ends. This will give the Seltos a more trendy and put-together look. The rear lip will also be changed to accommodate the new taillights.
Some changes will also be made to the inside of the Seltos, primarily to improve comfort and technology. It will have digital gauges instead of old ones. The digital gauge cluster can be 4.2 inches or 10.25 inches based on the trim level. The bigger screen will connect to the navigation screen, creating a smooth and fluid panoramic effect.
New buttons and air vents will also be added to the middle stack. The gear will stay the same as the Korean Seltos, which have a rotating dial. There will also be some new features on the inside, like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, a power liftgate, and heated front seats. However, the top-level SX trim will be the only one with some of these options.
Powertrain
There will still be two engine choices for the 2025 Kia Seltos: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with naturally aspirated fuel and a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The first will make 147 horsepower, and the second will produce 195. Instead of the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with the 1.6-liter engine, it will get a new eight-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.0-liter engine will be paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The Seltos will also come with front or all-wheel drive based on the trim level and engine choice. The all-wheel-drive system will have a center-locking differential to properly spread torque between the front and back axles to stabilize the vehicle and improve its grip.
Release Date and Price
The 2025 Kia Seltos will likely come out in late 2024 or early 2025, with a 2025 model year. The price hasn’t been released yet, but it’s expected to increase slightly from $23,665 to $29,165 (destination fee included). The new X-Line type may also be more expensive than the standard Seltos.
The 2025 Kia Seltos will go up against the Hyundai Kona, the Honda HR-V, the Nissan Rogue Sport, the Mazda CX-30, and the Subaru Crosstrek.
