2024 Kia Telluride Change, Interior, Price – The Telluride is an excellent mid-size SUV. Its cabin is brimming with high-quality fabrics and convenient conveniences. The V6 engine is a reliable workhorse, and the ride and handling are well-balanced. There’s plenty of power for up to eight people in three rows and lots of cargo space. Also, even if it doesn’t outperform the competition in any area, Telluride is a well-rounded entertainer.
We named the Telluride our Best 3-Row SUV for the Money for 2022 because of its remarkable quality and affordability. Also, good cargo and passenger space, good safety and dependability ratings, good reviews from auto journalists, and family-friendly features made it the best 3-row SUV for families in 2024.
Redesign of the Kia Telluride for 2024
The Telluride stands out among the more mundane competitors in the sector thanks to its daring new design language. Kia decided to offer the Nightfall Edition Package to make the SUV even more daring. The LX and EX had smaller 18-inch wheels, while the S and SX had larger black 20-inch wheels. The S and EX models have a motorized sunroof, while the top-tier model has two sunroofs. The base-level headlights can be elevated to LED clusters on the EX trim, and LED fog lamps are only available on the SX. The orange LED running lamps on the top SX variant give the Telluride a distinct and distinctive fascia, which we enjoy. Although it’s only a tiny modification, Kia’s new logo elevates the SUV’s appearance even more, with the vast “TELLURIDE” lettering on the hood evoking strong Range Rover vibes.
Eight color possibilities are available across the range, albeit not all are available on every trim. Everlasting Silver, Gravity Gray, Sangria, Ebony Black, and Glacial White Pearl paint are available for the standard LX, with all but the first two costing an extra $495. If you prefer Black Copper, you’ll need to upgrade to at least the S trim level and pay $495 for premium paint. Dark moss is likewise included at this level but no cost. The $495 Wolf Gray exterior color is the final option, but it requires the Nightfall Edition Package and the Premium Package installed on your EX or SX. The Snow White Pearl from last year is no longer available.
Interior
The cabin of the 2024 Kia Telluride has been redesigned with more luxury materials, a larger touchscreen, and dual-zone automated climate control, the latter two of which are now standard. The dashboard is designed with a clean, elegant look and ergonomically placed controls to maximize driver interaction. Soft-touch materials dominate the dashboard and doorway panels, indicating that the materials are of good quality. This year, passengers can choose between an 8-seater layout and a 7-seater configuration with a second-row captain’s chair, just like they did last year when they bought the car.
The latter option is a family favorite because it makes accessing the third-row seats more accessible. The seats are likewise in a class of their own, with quality Nappa leather seating surfaces and optional heating and ventilation for the first two rows to add a touch of luxury. The infotainment system has been elevated to a 10.25-inch display as standard across all trim levels for the 2022 Kia Telluride. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker audio system are all included in the system. Satellite radio, a 10-speaker Harman & Kardon premium sound system, wireless smartphone charging, and a few more widgets are included in higher grades.
Engine
Every Telluride comes with a naturally aspirated V-6 engine that produces 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Its machine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels in the standard configuration; all-wheel drive is available on all models. We tried the top-of-the-line Telluride SX, which hit 60 mph in 7.1 seconds. However, the large Kia didn’t feel as responsive to throttle inputs as some of its turbocharged competitors at lower speeds. The ride of the Telluride is challenging, with rough pavement occasionally tossing the three-row SUV off course. There’s also a self-leveling rear air suspension option. The braking system is fantastic, and the steering is tight and has a beautiful heaviness. The Telluride has 8.0 inches of ground clearance and can tow up to 5000 pounds for off-road adventures.
Unlike many rival 3-row SUVs, the Telluride is only available with a V-6 engine. According to the EPA, the front-drive variant is the most fuel-efficient, with ratings of 20 mpg in the metropolis and 26 mpg on the interstate. All-wheel-drive variants get 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, marginally better than V-6 competitors like the Volkswagen Atlas but slightly worse than the Honda Pilot. According to its government rating, on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy route, the all-wheel-drive Telluride we drove returned 24 mpg. The Atlas got 24 mpg during our real-world test, and the Pilot received 27 mpg. Visit the EPA’s website for more information on Telluride’s fuel efficiency.
Price and Release Date of the Kia Telluride in 2024
Comfort and performance conjure up visions of significant indebtedness, but they don’t have to be prohibitively expensive, even when transporting eight people about town. The Telluride is an excellent example of a cheap, well-equipped family sport-utility vehicle, with a starting MSRP of $32,790 for the base LX. Each upgrade after that adds a small amount to Telluride’s price, with the S costing $35,290 and the EX costing $37,790. A new Kia Telluride in the top-tier SX model is a tad more expensive, at $42,690. For an extra $2,000, either vehicle can be equipped with an all-wheel drive, but the SX costs $100 less. Tax, license, registration, and a $1,225 destination fee are not included.
