2024 Kia Sportage X Line Interior, Features

2024 Kia Sportage X Line Interior, FeaturesThe Kia Sportage continues its war on mall parking lots and school drop-off zones to enter its fourth generation. Like last year’s Nightfall package is now available as a permanent trim for this year’s model, the Sportage isn’t slipping behind the pack in the compact crossover SUV race.

We think it has one of the best designs in the industry, a well-built interior that is pleasant and functional, and a comprehensive range of active driver safety support features essential for any car. The 2024 model is powered by either a 2.4-liter engine with 181 horsepower or a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 240 horsepower, making the overall package nearly impossible to criticize. For example, the Toyota RAV4 and the Hyundai Tucson, the Sportage’s corporate cousins, are competitive rivals in the United States.

Redesign of the Kia Sportage in 2024

The exterior design of the 2024 Kia Sportage is something about which people have differing ideas. While some say it is utterly hideous, others think it is quirky and athletic. Sportage’s unique oblong shape and quirky style help it stand out from the pack, even in our opinion. Kia’s goal with the 2024 Sportage was to give it a more solemn and mature appearance.

This time around, Kia has opted for matte and gloss black panels in place of the bright chrome trim found on previous models. The swept-out projector LED headlights, and Kia’s distinctive tiger-nose grille adorn the Sportage’s aggressive front fascia. The front of the Sportage sports a skid plate that lends the vehicle a more SUV-like appearance. Even though it has a 6.4-inch ground clearance.

Interior

The 2024 Sportage’s interiors haven’t altered much from the previous model. In terms of design, the interior has always been kept understated. The interior materials chosen by Kia are of the highest quality, which stands out to us. The quality is noticeably better than in other cars in the same market for plastics. The quality of the fit and finish is excellent, and there is no vibration or shaking in the vehicle. Four adults and a child can ride in comfort in the 2024 Sportage, but five adults will be a squeeze. Both rows have a fair amount of headroom and legroom. The seats in the front are comfy, although they don’t offer enough support. The seats are well-placed, providing a commanding view of the surrounding landscape. The seats in the back are identical to those in the front. Lower-level trims include fabric-trimmed seats, while the Nightfall, X Line, and SX Turbo have simulated leather upholstery, while the SX Turbo has genuine leather upholstery.

About 30.7 cubic feet of storage space can be found behind the second row of seats in the Sportage. 60/40 second-row split and 60.1 cubic feet of cargo space when the second seat is folded down flat. It may look like Kia’s rivals have more cargo room, but that isn’t the case. On the 2024 Sportage, the infotainment system is a standard 8-inch touchscreen display in the dashboard’s middle. Because of the physical buttons, the infotainment system is relatively user-friendly. It is possible to add an 8-speaker Harman & Kardon premium surround sound system to the Sportage, which comes standard in the base model.

Engine

A 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine are offered in the 2024 Kia Sportage. For those who don’t want to pay more for the X Line Turbo, the 2.4-liter inline-four produces 181 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. This engine’s performance can be classified as adequate. It has a lot of low-down torque, but it’s not much, and it’s most noticeable when you’re shifting between gears. As long as the driver wants more speed, the standard six-speed automatic transmission will try to find a lower gear and send the RPMs sky high.

It’s suitable for city driving, but not so great on the highway. When equipped with AWD, the SX Turbo’s turbocharged 2.0-liter engine generates 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, with maximum torque available between 1,450 and 3,500 revolutions per minute. This engine has a voracious appetite for torque, and it almost feels like it’s going too fast for the task at hand. However, we have nothing to say about it. There is a 6-speed automatic transmission for both engines, but the less powerful engine can make the shifting feel a little more erratic than with the more powerful engine.

The release date and price of the Kia Sportage in 2024

The 2024 Kia Sportage’s price range is vast, considering that each trim level may be ordered in either FWD or AWD mode. Prices for the Nightfall Edition, FWD EX, and SX Turbo Kia Sportage start at $28,090, $28,390, and $33,750, respectively. These models’ AWD options cost an additional $1,500, save for the Nightfall Edition, which charges an additional $1,700 for the added luxury of heated front seats.
