2024 Kia K5 Interior, Models, Price – With a new Kia logo and a raft of new standard features, the 2024 Kia K5 midsize sedan enters its second model year. Though the K5’s great exterior appeals to the eye, the car’s price and feature levels are equally enticing. The 2024 K5 starts at $23,690, but a sportier GT version with a 290-horsepower engine is also available. Kia adds extra features to the 2024 K5, such as wireless device charging and a 10.3-inch touchscreen on the GT-Line, and higher grades to keep the momentum going. A 360-degree surround-view camera, front parking sensors, and a power-folding outside mirror are standard on the GT and EX grades.
The new Kia K5 GT edition has a lot of people interested in it because of its high-tech gadgets, comforts, and warranty. Kia was able to sell over 30,000 automobiles in its first year of production because the 2024 K5 is a new name in the midsize sedan segment. The market leaders in terms of sales are the old brands, such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
2024 Kia K5 Redesign
The midsize sedan market isn’t known for evoking longing stares, but the 2024 Kia K5 is one of the most stylish competitors in the segment. It’s longer and more inferior than the Optima it replaces, giving it a more athletic posture, but the details make it stand out. The back-end illumination and the nearly angry face with the larger tiger grille and dramatic LED DRLs look fantastic. The LX comes standard with LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, and a Hyper Silver front grille, while the GT has 19-inch wheels and bespoke stylistic components shared with the GT-Line. A panoramic sunroof and front LED fog lamps are available on some model levels.
Usually, the brightest color available is required to make your midsize sedan stand out, but the Kia K5 looks terrific in subtle shades like Gravity Gray and Ebony Black. On the basic LX, you have the option of Everlasting Silver, Passion Red Tintcoat, or Ebony Black. A Glacial White Pearl will set you back an additional $445, and every other color will necessitate a more expensive trim. The LXS comes in Crystal Beige or Gravity Gray, while the GT-Line comes in Wolf Gray or Sapphire Blue. While the palette has a lot of flexibility, Kia should not have restricted particular colors to specific regions.
Interior
The 2024 Kia K5 builds on the virtues of the Kia Optima with a sleek, attractive, and spacious cabin. It looks like modern variants like the Stinger and K900, with gloss black plastic and a horizontal form. The use of high-quality fabrics, such as wood trim, on the dashboard and doors, adds to the appeal. The quality of the building is outstanding, with high-grade materials used throughout.
The K5’s premium interior options include ambient interior lighting, heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a wireless charging pad, to name a few. The floating infotainment display floats over the odd horizontal vents above the dashboard. The temperature controls are easy to use and are situated beneath the vents. The K5 also comes with a sophisticated flat-bottom steering wheel with numerous functions.
Engine
The K5 replaces the Optima’s simple naturally aspirated base engine with a 1.6-liter turbocharged unit that is quieter and has more low-down torque, increasing drivability. This engine, which produces 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, is used in most trim levels. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The GT is a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, which is more powerful than the Honda Accord’s top model. The use of a new 8-speed “wet” dual-clutch transmission developed in-house by Kia adds to the athletic aspect of this car. It ensures smooth and quick transitions.
Because the more potent GT variant won’t be available until later this year, we only got to try two versions of the 1.6-liter base engine. The engine isn’t powerful, but it’s on par with the base models from Honda, Nissan, and Toyota. The eight-speed transmission distinguishes the K5. The new gearbox shifts smoothly and quickly without the rubbery feel of a CVT. Because the K5 doesn’t have a manual transmission, the eight-speed automatic transmission makes it more fun to drive than CVT-equipped cars.
